Chick-fil-A Hours of Operation
Most Chick-fil-A restaurants keep similar hours, but times are set by each independent Owner-Operator, so they vary by location — use these as a guide and confirm your local restaurant. The one constant: every Chick-fil-A is closed on Sunday. Today's hours are highlighted automatically below.
Why Is Chick-fil-A Closed on Sundays?
Chick-fil-A has been closed on Sundays since founder S. Truett Cathy opened his first restaurant in 1946. Having worked long hours in restaurants that never closed, he decided to give himself and his employees a consistent day each week to rest and spend time with family or worship. The policy applies to nearly every location nationwide — including restaurants inside malls, stadiums, and airports — and it hasn't changed as the company has grown.
Note on Special Locations
Restaurants inside airports, stadiums, malls, and on college campuses often follow the host venue's hours, which can differ from a standalone restaurant — and some of those licensed locations may keep different days or a reduced menu. Always check the specific location.
